Rendcomb College is an Independent Day and Boarding School in Gloucestershire for boys and girls aged between 3 and 18.
The original College building consists of a large mansion built in 1865 by the Goldsmith family and designed by the well-known architect Philip Hardwick. A new wing was added to the main building in 1968 to provide Sixth Form study bedrooms, which subsequently evolved into the Junior part of the school in 2000 for pupils aged 3-11.
Rendcomb chose Whittle to provide a painting and paint maintenance programme for the main school building, consisting of the Manor House, the extension and the large wooden hall to the rear.
In year 1, the Whittle Team supplied solutions to some interesting access issues, then prepared all previously painted surfaces to carry out a high quality repaint. This approach lends itself to ongoing maintenance painting over the duration of the programme.
Whittle's uniquely funded maintenance painting programme will ensure that the paint surfaces continue to protect the substrates as well as the aesthetics of the buildings over the life of the programme.
