Macmillan Coffee Morning Held For Orbit Residents. Back

Hankinson West Midlands office are working on behalf of Orbit, carrying out external pre-paint repairs and redecorations. The residents at Allen Close, Studley have had long running issues with car parking. Particularly as there were no designated parking bays per property. The bays were not numbered leaving the residents, at times, with nowhere to park their cars, residents from other estates were also parking in their bays and the atmosphere had been getting a little fractious leading to local Councillor Clive Rickhards getting involved.

John, the resident lead at Allen Close had been appealing for a number of years for the bays to be numbered to provide clarity on where each resident should park their vehicle and to defuse any tension amongst the local community.

Russell Gooch, Property Maintenance Manager and Gemma Besford Customer Care Manager met with Victoria the Scheme Manager at Allen Close to plan how and when we would carry out the works to create minimum disruption for the residents. Working together with Orbit and the residents we completed the work within a week of receiving the instruction. During our consultation with the residents Gemma asked if they would like a coffee morning to bring back some community spirit, they all agreed this would be a great idea.

The coffee morning was a great success, Councillor Clive Rickhards came along and commented on how organised we were given the current situation with Covid-19. We all followed government guidelines kept 2 metres apart and still had a successful morning and most importantly raising money for “The Macmillan”. Well done to all involved.
