CMF Charity Sporting Day Delivers the Goods

For the second year running, Hankinson Painting Group have organised and co-ordinated the CMF Charity Sporting Day on behalf of the Construction Management Framework Community for Areas 9 and 10 of the Highways Agency in aid of the Lighthouse Club Benevolent Fund, the Construction Industry Charity.

The Community is made up of all the companies involved in maintaining the Highway Agency’s major roads and motorways in the North West and West Midlands. Held at Patshull Park Hotel and Country Club, Shropshire the day was made up of a number of sporting activities that included Golf, Laser Clay Pigeon Shooting, Pistol Shooting, Fishing and racing on a 20ft Scalextric track. After dinner all competition winners were presented with their prizes by Mr. Don Baldry, former chairman of the Lighthouse Club.

Mr. Baldry was then presented with two cheques for the Lighthouse Charity. One was for £1,250 and was raised by Mr. Keith Dowling, Operations Manager of Roy Hankinson Limited, who raised his funds by running in the Liverpool Half Marathon.

The second was presented by Mr. Stephen Hankinson, Group Chief Executive of Hankinson and was on behalf of the Construction Management Framework Community for the sum of £5,250.

The evening concluded with entertainment by professional after dinner speaker Mr. Norman Prince who spent many years as a member of the Houghton Weavers and is now a regular on local BBC Radio.
