Hankinson Part Of Award Winning Team At Contract Journal Awards 2005

We are delighted o announce that the Construction Management Community (CMC) for Areas 9 & 10, of which Roy Hankinson Limited are part, and the Highways Agency have won the "Long Term Partnering Contract of the Year" at the prestigious Contract Journal Awards for 2005 held on the 6th October at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

The CJ awards are considered by many as the most prestigious in the construction industry and the evening was attended by over 1200 people and hosted by TV star Clive Anderson.

The Community was formed in August 2002 when the Highways Agency, its managing agents and 20 specialist contractors came together as the CMC to deliver £300m of road and structural maintenance projects over a 7 year period. Roy Hankinson Limited were selected as a Specialist Painting Contractor for both Areas 9 and 10.

The judges clearly supported the view held by HA Procurement Director, Steve Rowsell that "the Construction Management Community is undoubtedly at the leading edge of best practice within the Highways Agency. It is the best example of suppliers and HA people working together in proper partnership to deliver the HA objectives, and through collaboration, driving continuous improvement in performance.", High praise indeed.

Stephen Hankinson said "In view of our commitment as a business to develop partnering relationships, to be involved in one that is award winning can only be of benefit".

This is the second time we have been part of an award winning team for our work in the CMC. Last year we were part of the specialist team on the M6 3 Pin Arches project that won the Phil Stanton Excellence Award which is an award that the Community makes for the project that best meets the values and objectives that the Community has set.
