PAINTER'S NAMED AS TOP FIRM IN THE UK - AGAIN!

Hankinson Painting Group, the Birkenhead Painting and Property Services Contractor has been named the top Specialist Contractor in the UK for the third time in six months! Following on from their success in the National Construction News awards, and the Premier Trophy awards of the Painting and Decorating Association of Great Britain, the family owned Company has beaten off stiff competition from across the Country, to be voted the Specialist Contractor of the Year in the 11th Annual Contract Journal Construction Industry Awards.

The most prestigious awards in the industry were held in the Great Room of Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London on Thursday 5th October 2006.

The award was accepted by Group Chief Executive, Stephen Hankinson, who said:
"This caps an absolutely remarkable year for the Company. To win one award was special, to win three national awards in such a short space of time is incredible. This external recognition gives enormous confidence to our clients and The Contract Journal Award is another opportunity to create awareness and highlight the quality of service that the business can offer. It will give us a tremendous platform to continue developing the Company. I am enormously proud of everybody who works at the Company and without their hard work, we would not have been able to achieve our success."

The Company was praised by the judges and their citation read:
"For a Company the size of Hankinson to pursue long term business relationships and in particular enter into a partnering agreement with a huge client such as the Highways Agency and get such a glowing reference is a bit special."

In summing up the judges also said:
"The Company has demonstrated extraordinary enthusiasm maintained over a long period."

Hankinson Painting Group was established in 1975 by Stephen's father, Roy Hankinson, who is now Non Executive Group Chairman, and has developed into one of the UK's largest privately owned Painting and Property Maintenance Contractors.

Hankinson Painting Group employs more than 250 from its offices in Birkenhead and West Bromwich and its activities range from traditional marbling for historic buildings restoration to Blasting and Protective Coatings on motorway bridges.

The Company has been involved in other award winning work in the past including all the specialist decorations at the Trafford Centre, Manchester and their Industrial Team recently carried out the cleaning and protective coatings of 16,000sq m of steelwork on Thomas Telford's Menai Bridge linking Anglesey to the North Wales mainland.

Its work has also included a major local partnering contract with Wirral Partnership Homes.
