Perfect Paint Job Picks Up Award

Following on from the success at the “Specialist Contractor of the Year Awards” we have won our second major national award in a matter of weeks.

The Painting and Decorating Association Premier Trophy Awards 2006 were held on the 8th of June and The Roy Hankinson Group’s Blasting and Protective Coating Division picked up the top award in the Industrial category, and received The Silver Salver Award.

This is a very prestigious award with many strong contenders including Ian Williams Ltd and Bagnalls. However the judges felt that there was a clear winner.
The award was presented in recognition of works successfully carried out at the Menai Bridge, North Wales.

Thomas Telfords Grade 1 listed bridge is one of the most historical structures in the UK. There has been only one major refurbishment since its first opening, making this a very specialist and prestigious bridge to be involved with. The work included traffic management, scaffolding, grit blasting and protective coatings and steel repairs.

Stephen Hankinson, Group Chief Executive said:

We were very proud to be involved with such an iconic structure and to have our work recognised at a National level is a tremendous endorsement of the quality of our work.”

The bridge is now once again a landmark within North Wales with local television, radio and newspapers all showing increased interest in the project.
