This week Group Chief Executive Stephen Hankinson was invited to sit on an Insider Magazine Round Table in Liverpool discussing the power of productivity. Insider is a business magazine with regional editions and now has 240,000 business readers, which is more unique readers than the ft.com (Financial Times)!
Co-sponsored by Vodafone, Grant Thornton and JMW, the results of the Round Table have now been published in the latest edition of the Insider Magazine North West (article pictured below).
The session which was a select group of North West business people focussed on a research paper by the London School of Economics and commissioned by Vodafone UK which explored the UK’s productivity problem and ways that it can be tackled.
The UK apparently has lower productivity than all of the G7 countries, with the exception of Japan, and is recognised as a major challenge. This created a very interesting and diverse discussion between the guests on the round table.
Stephen focussed on the power of effective collaboration in the construction sector and how it can be a catalyst to significant improvements in productivity.
Stephen could speak with authority on this having seen it in action in a number of relationships, and in particular with Highways England.
